Initial consultation is a two visits: discovery and bodywork (1.5 hours). The cost is $500. This appointment can be combined into one visit if time is an issue for you. Follow-up sessions (1 hour) are $200.
Michael seeks to uncover the root cause of the pain or the issues you are experiencing by examining both the physical and emotional aspects of your mechanism of injury. If the situation dictates, you may also work with Maria Aihara-Sasaki to further discover patterns that exist in your life.
The first visit will involve gathering information, discovering details, and understanding the biomechanics of your injury. If time permits, he will begin the process of working on you. Eventually, there will be a deeper exploration of your ”WHY” — the fundamental motivation behind your health and life.
Your 'WHY' is the ultimate motivation for everything you do. It dictates how you engage and what you aim to achieve throughout your life. It will also shape your healing collaboration during your time with Michael. If you don’t know WHY you want to feel better or strive for peak performance, neither will Michael. Your WHY will create a mutual compass to guide the both of you in your process.
The first appointment is about 90 minutes long. Follow up appointments are about 50-60 minutes.
Dr. Michael Luan, D.C. is well-versed and certified in Applied Kinesiology (AK), Sacro-Occipital Techniques (SOT), drop table therapy, flexion distraction, functional stretching, activity-specific training, and Eastern Medicine. He has also worked for many years alongside orthodontists to take a functional approach to mechanics of the body goes through during orthodontic treatment.
Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and a Doctor of Chiropractic. He also possesses a strong background in biomechanics and body communication. For 25 years, he has taught the biomechanics of movement to fitness professionals and yoga instructors, as well as group fitness, and has practiced martial arts for over 30 years.
This is highly dependent on your goals and your 'WHY.' Most academic quarters last 6 to 8 weeks, while semesters typically last 8 to 12 weeks. This time frame is known as the physiological response, which refers to how your body reacts to the positive stress of learning something new. Therefore, it is approximately one to two times a week for 6 to 12 weeks to achieve the positive changes you seek, depending on your motivation and the goals you set with Michael Luan.
Yes, this is a partnership. There will definitely be homework to help us reach our goals together. The more diligent you are with your assignments, the better the results will be. Most of the time, the homework is simple but requires consistency.
